
About Keyon Toh
Keyon Toh began his formal percussion studies at the School of the Arts, Singapore, where he was part of the Music Performance program from 2019 to 2023 under the guidance of Ramu and Joachim Lim. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Music Performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, focusing on percussion and studying with distinguished teachers including Mark Suter, Christian Schooler, Derek Koh, Pablo, and Raju.
Teaching and Mentorship
In addition to my performance career, I am dedicated to educating and guiding the next generation of percussionists and drummers. My instruction integrates rigorous technical training with musical expression, creativity, and applicable performance skills.
Teaching Philosophy
Each student is entitled to an individualized learning path tailored to their aspirations—whether preparing for auditions, developing stage presence, or nurturing a lifelong appreciation for music. I focus on methodical technique, attentive listening, and effective musical storytelling, ensuring students understand not only how to perform, but also the significance behind each piece.

Levels and Ages
I teach upper-primary, secondary, pre-tertiary, and diploma-level students, adapting lesson pace and repertoire to each individual’s background. Instruction is offered for soloists and ensemble musicians, encompassing both school band and orchestral percussion roles.

My students have secured placements in school bands and youth orchestras, attained commendable results in performance examinations, and showcased their talents at school concerts, festivals, and competitions. I take pride in supporting their confidence and helping them cultivate a distinctive musical identity.
